Shawnee State Park is about 25-30 minutes northwest of River Mountain, just outside of Bedford, PA. For guests coming from the Pittsburgh, Philadelphia areas or north, Shawnee State Park is near your route. The park centers around a lake and offers summer boat rentals, based on availability. There are bike lanes along the park roads through the park as well as hiking trails, picnic shelters, and beach access.
