Filling Our WELL Women’s Wellness Retreat
With Bettina Peets of Adventures for the Soul
A perfect blend of relaxation, connection, and personal growth.
We often hear the phrase “Fill Your Cup” or “You Can’t Give from an Empty Cup” in wellness and self-care spaces but what does that really mean? Does it mean get a manicure, message, or go to brunch? Perhaps. But what if we were to go deeper and be much more intentional?! How about we dive so deep into self-care that mere a cup is simply too small. What if we give ourselves a wellness and self-love experience that is so delicious and life affirming that we need a whole freaking well? That’s exactly what we are going to do this Thanksgiving Weekend.
Who is this dynamic retreat for?
THE FILLING OUR WELL RETREAT is the woman who is…
- Ready to reconnect to her aliveness and joy!
- Desires to find the balance between gratitude for the present and defining her amazing future.
- Ready to tune into her own powerful inner-voice and silence the noise of passed-down ways of thinking and doing that no longer serve the woman she is becoming.
- Busting at the seams to have fun, be creative and unleash their fullest and most authentic self.
Give yourself permission to FILL YOUR WELL!!! I can’t wait to share this amazing experience with you.

They say our lives is a sum of past decisions. And like many women, many of my decisions had been based on the needs and wants of others, knee-jerk responses to pain and or conflict and survival as a single mother. Fast forward to my daughter going to college I was left with 3 soul-stirring questions, "Who am I, what do I want and do I have the courage to become the woman I have silently dared to dream of?"
I slowly began to try new activities that had always been in the back of my mind, like hiking, camping, and whitewater rafting. With every new activity, feelings of vibrance and vitality began to emerge. The audacity it took to show up as the only woman of color on a rafting trip showed up as I applied to graduate school. The determination it took to climb my first mountain showed up when I decided to create a business centered around adventure and women. Every adventure brought new lessons and levels of confidence. The woman I truly desired to be was emerging, and she had a clear and bold direction for her life.
Bettina Peets is a passionate wellness advocate and the founder of Adventures for the Soul, a retreat company dedicated to introducing women to the benefits and joy of outdoor adventure. Her mission is to provide the woman who consistently gives the best of herself to work and family, a place to renew, revive, and rediscover her best, joyous self.
Bettina has hosted countless hikes, camping retreats, and whitewater adventures for hundreds of women. Every event provides women the opportunity to connect with nature and to experience “active sisterhood.”
She is also an accomplished international dance teacher, certified yoga and mindfulness instructor. Bettina teaches virtual yoga and meditation classes once a week as a way to contribute and give back to her community.

Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
The Underground Railroad
Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
