Wild & Well
This is the getaway you’ll wish you said yes to.
Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning at River Mountain. A few days away. Fresh air. Movement that feels good. Delicious food you don’t have to cook. Conversations that go deeper than small talk. Campfires. Stargazing. The kind of laughter that makes your stomach hurt.
This isn’t a “become a new person” retreat. It’s a come-back-to-yourself kind of thing.
It’s our first time leading River Mountain together, and honestly? The energy is right. Grounded but not heavy. Supportive but not precious. Real, in the best way.
There’s rhythm to the days, but nothing rigid. Show up to everything. Skip something if you need space. Hike. Nap. Stay up late by the fire. No one’s grading your growth.
And somewhere in the middle of it all — without forcing it — your shoulders drop. Your nervous system unclenches. You remember you’re steady. You remember you’re capable. You remember you don’t actually need to blow up your life… you just needed space
You won’t leave as a different person. You’ll leave feeling more like yourself.

Meet Your Hosts
Heather Rice, E-RYT 200
Heather came to yoga in 2019 looking for balance and left forever changed by the practice’s ability to heal and transform from the inside out. As both a teacher and lifelong student, she believes yoga is a space to return to ourselves—to listen, soften, and grow through curiosity and compassion.
Her teaching emphasizes accessibility and authenticity, reminding us that yoga isn’t about the shape of a pose but the relationship we build with ourselves through it. In her classes, everybody is invited to explore movement in a way that feels supportive and real.
Currently studying under Diane Bondy in a 300-hour program, Heather continues to evolve her approach to teaching with a deep commitment to inclusivity and heart-centered practice. She’s passionate about helping teachers reconnect with their own practice so they can continue to guide others from a place of clarity, integrity, and joy.
Jenn Hickman, RYT 200
Jenn’s yoga journey began nearly a decade ago with a simple desire to stretch — and unfolded into a deep love for the mind-body-spirit connection. Her teaching blends movement, breath, and mindfulness in ways that feel playful, inclusive, and deeply human.
Drawing from traditional yoga wisdom, somatics, and trauma-informed care, Jenn creates a warm, welcoming space where students can explore, release, and reconnect.
Off the mat, Jenn is a K–2 Special Education teacher who brings mindfulness into the classroom, a nature lover, and a proud mom, spouse, and fur baby wrangler. She can’t wait to share the magic of yoga with you — one breath, one asana, one moment at a time.
Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
