Unfold and Ascend Retreat

Unfold and Ascend Retreat

Unfold and Ascend is a three-day soul-nourishing women’s retreat designed to help each participant come home to herself. Throughout the weekend, we’ll move through layers of yoga, meditation, journaling, and meaningful connection. We’ll begin with an opening circle where each woman will be invited to share her name, her intention, and what she is seeking. From that first moment, the energy will be about coming as you are and allowing your heart to open.

Each day will include yoga practices to ground and awaken the body, guided meditations to reconnect with inner wisdom, and journaling prompts to help integrate the experience. We’ll explore partner and team-building activities, optional silent meditations, and heartfelt circles where laughter, tears, and transformation will all have space to coexist.

This retreat is about unfolding — gently peeling back the layers of who we think we should be — and allowing our true essence to shine through. As we ascend, we’ll rise into remembrance of who we really are: radiant, whole, powerful beings capable of co-creating our most authentic lives. Participants will leave not only with memories and connections, but with tangible tools and practices they can take home to integrate into their daily lives — moving from a place of survival into a state of thriving.

It’s going to be real, raw, fun, and deeply transformative — a space to breathe again, believe again, and blossom again.

Corina Berkoben is a yoga teacher, Reiki Master, educator, and founder of Hearts + Halos Healing, a wellness space dedicated to helping others remember their light. With nearly 30 years of experience as a kindergarten teacher and a Master’s in Education, Corina brings deep compassion and grounding to all she does.

Her mission is simple: if you leave her presence feeling even one percent better, she’s fulfilled her purpose. Through yoga, meditation, Reiki, and trauma-informed healing, she helps women release what no longer serves them, reconnect with self-love, and rise into their authentic power.

Unfold and Ascend is Corina’s second women’s retreat — a sacred space to unfold, awaken, and ascend into wholeness.

Wellness with Nature

Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.

Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.

History

Warrior Path

Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.

The Underground Railroad

Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
