Strength in Transition Retreat

Strength in Transition Retreat

40-HOUR FALL POWER IMMERSION & TRAINING

Join Lead Teacher Jaime Russell and Yogamour founder Geni Donnelly for a five-day, four-night Power Yoga immersion retreat at River Mountain Retreat Center in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania. Located in Everett, PA, about two hours from the Baltimore–Washington area, this retreat offers the perfect opportunity to step away from daily routines and welcome the transition into fall.

As the seasons shift, nature reminds us of the power of transition, resilience, and renewal. This training draws inspiration from those natural rhythms, inviting you to harness the energy of change through powerful movement, focused breath, and intentional practice for both body and mind.

Strength in Transition is designed as an immersive Power Yoga experience to build strength, refine technique, and deepen your understanding of power yoga flow, alignment, and intelligent sequencing. Each day includes dynamic power yoga practices balanced with workshops on anatomy, breathwork, and recovery, supporting both physical vitality and mental clarity.

This immersion is open to anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of power yoga and elevate their personal practice, as well as teachers who wish to refine their teaching, enhance cueing and sequencing, and expand their continuing education.

Participants may also choose to upgrade and receive a 40-hour Yoga Alliance approved Power Yoga training certificate.

Step into The Season. Build Your Fire. Strengthen Your Foundation.

Jaime1

Jaime Russell

Jaime Russell began her transformative yoga journey in 2007 after her father was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. What started as a supportive visit to a YMCA yoga class quickly became a life-changing path. Through that experience, Jaime discovered not only the healing power of yoga, but her calling to serve and uplift others.

She soon joined the volunteer team at Sol Yoga in downtown Frederick, where she devoted eight years to learning the business and heart of yoga from the inside out. In 2016, Jaime completed her 200-hour foundational teacher training at Sol Yoga, deepening both her practice and leadership. She continued her education with a Power Yoga Teacher Training under Patty Ivey in 2017 and completed Baptiste Power Teacher Training in 2019 in Lancaster, PA.

Now the Lead Teacher at Yogamour, Jaime is known for her compassionate heart, strong leadership, and unwavering dedication to community. She manages the studio, leads five classes each week, and serves as a Power Yoga Teacher Trainer for Frederick’s premier yoga studio. Whether teaching, mentoring, or supporting students behind the scenes, Jaime approaches every role with authenticity, service, and love.

Her passion lies in empowering students to discover their strength—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Jaime’s commitment radiates both on and off the mat, inspiring those around her to step fully into their potential.

Wellness with Nature

Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.

Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.

History

Warrior Path

Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.

The Underground Railroad

Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
