For Fox Sake: The NYE Experience
We’re bringing in 2027 in a whole new way.
We’ve created a camp experience for grown women who’ve grown tired of the IG version of
raising their vibe, holding space, or protecting their peace. It’s for women who are all out of
foxes to give and want to hang out with other women without a fox in their pocket.
For Fox Sake is a third space. A place that isn't work and isn't home, where you can temporarily
resign from being the provider, the mom, the partner, or the glue keeping everyone's life from
falling apart. You don't have to be productive here. You don't even have to be impressive. It’s
your place for you to be you at your you-ist.
It’s like summer camp, but all grown up.
Remember the magic of instantly making a friend because you both laughed at the same ridiculous thing? Or staying up talking until you couldn't
keep your eyes open? We never stop loving that stuff, we just stopped doing it. And it’s about
foxing time we started doing it again.
So, skip the resolutions this year. (They imply we’re somehow inadequate -which we’re not -
and never work anyhow.) Come laugh, play and excavate the fun, curious person buried
underneath your Google Calendar and laundry piles.
Turns out, the most therapeutic thing you can do for yourself... is just have a ridiculously good time.

About SHANNON MILLER
Shannon Miller is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), founder of Apricity Expat Therapy,
and the creator of For Fox Sake—a community built on one simple belief:
Play is therapeutic.
For nearly a decade, Shannon has worked with women living the complicated adventure (sometimes dumpster fire) we call life through her therapy practice, Apricity Expat Therapy. Again and again, she noticed the same pattern in her clients...and in herself. Women aren't just burned out. They're fundamentally depleted of joy. Somewhere along the way, we became incredibly good at being responsible. We built careers. Raised families. Took care of everyone else. Learned to hold everything and everyone together.
And without even realizing it, we forgot how to play.
As a divorced mom of teenage twins, Shannon knows firsthand that life has a way of becoming
one long to-do list. She also knows that healing doesn't always happen sitting on a meditation
cushion at a silent retreat in the jungle. Sometimes it happens while smashing plates. Sometimes while making friendship bracelets. Sometimes it’s over a long dinner where everyone lingers at the table. Sometimes because another woman looks at you and says, “I got you.”
Shannon built For Fox Sake to blow up the idea that a women’s retreat needs to be a quiet, somber, beige laden affair. She took her clinical background, stripped away the therapy jargon and replaced it with play, adventure, and actual connection. The therapeutic work is still happening, you’ll just be having too much fun to notice.
Her goal is simple: that you leave camp feeling lighter, more connected and reminded that you are not a self-improvement project. You only need to connect to the fun, airy part of yourself more often and it’s ok to turn off the part that is a kick ass hypercompetent machine that only knows responsibilities.
Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
The Underground Railroad
Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
