Fall Yoga Retreat at River Mountain
Take a deep breath and join Becca for a weekend in the mountains. We're headed to River Mountain, a secluded 150-acre retreat center nestled in the heart of the Allegheny Mountains, just a couple hours from the DMV. We'll use this long weekend to slow down and return to ourselves, making space to reconnect not only to ourselves and on our mat, but to nature, our surroundings, and community.
Daily yoga classes, crisp fall air, evening fire pits with s'mores, spectacular leaf peeping and hiking opportunities, and a daily happy hour to unwind with good people. Whether you want to hike, curl up in a hammock with a book or a snooze, hang by the fire, or just breathe a little slower for a few days, this weekend is exactly what you make of it. No "should" here, just an invitation to enjoy however feels good to you.
Come solo, bring a friend, or gather your favorite people. There's room for all of it!

About Becca
Becca is a seasoned yoga instructor who has taught throughout the DMV area for almost a decade. She found yoga after a friend coaxed her to class with the promise of happy hour afterward, she left dripping in sweat, sore, and confused, but knew she had to go back. The physicality kept her coming back, but she soon discovered yoga is so much more than the physical practice, cultivating inner peace, strength, and community along the way.
Becca's teaching style is down-to-earth, compassionate, and friendly, creating space for students to meet themselves on their mat, whatever they're feeling, and find their edge in a fun, don't-take-yourself-too-seriously environment. Her goal is to help students build physical strength and breath alongside real inner resilience, the kind that extends far beyond the four corners of the mat.
Becca completed her 200-hour teacher training with Yoga Heights in Washington, DC, holds a Rocket Vinyasa Yoga Level 1 certification, and is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance. She's also completed 30 hours of Prenatal/Postnatal training. Outside of teaching, Becca loves moving her body in all kinds of ways, spending time with family, traveling, and baking bread.
Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
The Underground Railroad
Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
