Alicia broudy

Alicia has been practicing and teaching yoga for almost 15 years. She completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2015, along with several continuing education hours in vinyasa yoga sequencing, anatomy, and more. Alicia is currently a student at the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy; it is her intention to become a yoga therapist. She is also a graduate of the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership. As a Mindful Outdoor Guide, Alicia weaves together yoga practices, grounding exercises, and meditative walks for a fully immersive and sensory experience. Nicole Zellie Lann

Nicole has been a passionate and dedicated yoga practitioner since 2000. In 2003, she completed her 200-hour Kripalu-based yoga teacher training and 100-hour YogaRhythmics® teacher training. Over the years, her offerings have evolved into SoulFULL Movements, a reflection of her deep, holistic approach to yoga that nurtures not only the body, but the soul. With more than two decades of experience in yoga, somatics, and embodiment practices, Nicole’s classes create a dynamic fusion of styles designed to empower students to connect deeply with themselves. Her mission is to lead individuals on a transformative journey of movement, self-exploration, and rediscovery of their inner child. Through her guidance, students embrace both the sacred and the playful, cultivating balance, vitality, and joy. When she's not on the mat, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, and their son, Jack, whether cheering at the soccer field, taking walks with their dog Cookie, or enjoying a good book. This weekend, Nicole will offer a heart-centered yoga practice for all levels and a vibrant YogaRhythmics® dance party that invites movement and connection.

Rebecca Bay

Rebecca has been practicing yoga since 2014, and she loves the feeling of connectedness with mind and body that it offers. Rebecca’s personal yoga practice has been one of the most critical parts of her recovery from an eating disorder since 2016 and recovery from two surgeries on her right knee in 2018 and 2019. Yoga has helped her realize and appreciate her strengths, both mental and physical, and it's brought her together with so many wonderful friends. Rebecca has been a yoga teacher since 2019, and it's her goal to make everyone feel welcome and supported in class. Yoga is for everyone. Rebecca teaches vinyasa and restorative classes, and intentionally constructs her classes so that all participants can get what they're looking for out of their time spent practicing with her. When Rebecca isn't practicing yoga, she's most likely to be found crafting, napping, hiking, reading, being a bridesmaid, or engineering (her day job). Rebecca will offer a creative meditation and a restorative yoga class on this retreat.

Wellness with Nature

Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.

Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.

History

Warrior Path

Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.

The Underground Railroad

Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
