4th Annual Fall Yoga + Hike Retreat

This immersive weekend includes daily yoga practice, meditation and journaling, guided hiking, forest bathing, good food and drink, free time to explore (or rest!), and time spent around a campfire, together.

Meet Your Hosts
Alicia broudy
Alicia Broudy has been practicing and teaching yoga for over a decade. She completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2015, along with several continuing education hours in vinyasa yoga sequencing, anatomy, and more. In recent years, hiking has become an extension of Alicia’s personal yoga practice. In 2022, she completed a 10-day Mindful Outdoor Guide training at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. As a Mindful Outdoor Guide, Alicia weaves together yoga practices, grounding exercises, and meditative hikes for a fully immersive and sensory experience. Alicia works as an Outdoor Educator for a local nonprofit, and she is a certified Wilderness First Responder. During this weekend, Alicia will lead slow vinyasa flow classes, a forest bathing experience, and a longer hike.
Nicole Zellie Lann
Nicole has immersed herself in the practice of yoga since 2000 as a dedicated student. In 2003, she completed a 200-hour Kripalu-based yoga teacher training and a 100-hour YogaRhythmics® teacher training. Nicole's offerings have recently found a new identity under the name SoulFULL Movements. This name reflects the depth and richness of her approach to yoga, emphasizing not only the physical aspects but also the profound impact on the soul. Drawing on over two decades of diverse yoga, somatic, and embodiment experiences, Nicole's classes are a harmonious blend of various styles. Her mission is to guide students in rediscovering their inner child and embracing a spectrum of experiences that
range from the sacred to the playful, through a transformative journey of movement and self-discovery. When Nicole isn't practicing yoga, you can find her and her husband, Mike, cheering on their son Jack at the soccer field, taking leisurely walks with their dog Cookie, or curled up with a good book. During this weekend, Nicole will offer an open-hearted yoga practice suitable for all levels as well as a lively YogaRhythmics® dance party.
Rebecca Bay
Rebecca has been practicing yoga since 2014, and she loves the feeling of connectedness with mind and body that it offers. Rebecca’s personal yoga practice has been one of the most critical parts of her recovery from an eating disorder since 2016 and recovery from two knee surgeries in 2018 and 2019. Yoga has helped her realize and appreciate her strengths, both mental and physical, and it's brought her together with so many wonderful friends. Rebecca has been teaching yoga since 2019, and it's her goal to make everyone feel welcome and supported in class. Yoga is for everyone. Rebecca teaches vinyasa and restorative classes, and intentionally constructs her classes so that all participants can get what they're looking for out of their time spent practicing with her.
Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
The Underground Railroad
Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
