Awakening Energy Through Stillness
Yoga • Ayurveda • Yin • Self-Discovery
Step away from the pace of everyday life and into a weekend designed to restore your energy, quiet your mind, and reconnect you with your true nature.
Through thoughtfully guided yoga practices, nourishing Yin sessions, Ayurvedic wisdom, and meaningful self-reflection, you'll discover how to better understand the rhythms of your body, mind, and spirit. Drawing from the timeless teachings of Yoga, Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, we'll explore the energetic patterns that influence how we move through the world—and learn simple, practical ways to cultivate greater balance, vitality, and ease.
Rather than striving to become someone new, this retreat is an invitation to come home to yourself. Through movement, stillness, meditation, journaling, and authentic community, you'll create space to release what no longer serves you, deepen your self-awareness, and leave feeling grounded, renewed, and aligned with the life you want to live.
Whether you're seeking rest, clarity, healing, or simply time to reconnect with yourself, this immersive weekend offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, breathe deeply, and awaken the energy that has always been within you.

About Your Hosts
Victoria K
Victoria is a yoga teacher, herbalist, naturalist, and mom of three. She is a certified Holistic Ayurveda Coach and is passionate about helping people understand the connections between body, mind, spirit, and the natural world. Drawing from Ayurveda, yoga, and nervous system science, she explores how simple shifts in food, daily rhythms, breath, and awareness can help cultivate greater balance and wellbeing.
A member of the community for years, Victoria is certified in teaching Vinyasa yoga and has additional training in Beginners Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Pranayama. Her classes blend somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, and spacious, intentional movement. She creates opportunities for students to slow down, deepen their presence, and reconnect with the wisdom of their own bodies.
Outside the studio, Victoria spends much of her time in the natural world—gardening, foraging, identifying plants and mushrooms, and crafting small-batch herbal medicines. She loves helping others develop a deeper relationship with nature and discover how these connections can support health, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
Rick J
Originally from Minneapolis, MN, Rick started practicing Bikram Yoga in 2005. In 2008, he moved to Charlotte, NC where he continued his practice and was introduced to Yin Yoga by his teacher Elaine. After breaking his knee in 2012, he focused solely on Yin Yoga. 2020 brought more change. Rick and his wife moved to Pittsburgh, PA where he began a consistent Vinyasa practice. In 2024 he completed a 200 hour Vinyasa teacher training. Currently, Rick is working on his 300 hour certification and has also completed a comprehensive 50 hour Experiential Yoga Anatomy training with Judith H.
Rick currently teaches Yin and Vinyasa yoga. He believes in the power of quiet stillness that Yin Yoga offers to get out of our stressful lives and into our bodies and minds.
Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
The Underground Railroad
Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
