Maison Leigh
Teaching yoga came to me during a class when a teacher taught in a way that made me think, “Oh, I didn't know you could teach yoga like that.” It gave me permission to use yoga as a lens, not a dogma. My yoga aims to serve the student, not the other way around.
My first triathlon was 20 years ago. I didn't think beyond that one race. What I didn't expect was the motley crew of endurance-loving people I'd get thoroughly suckered into a lifetime of racing with. Some of my best friends are people I met "communally suffering” through training and unpredictable race conditions.
I ran the Tokyo Marathon this year and finished feeling like a winner. I set a new PR and broke sub-four hours more than 15 years in the making. Training through this past NYC winter had me digging DEEEEEP into my soul some days. I have never worked so hard to get this PR. I was 100% spent physically and emotionally at the end, knowing I left everything out there. That was a glorious moment to experience. There is no satisfaction like having fully expended yourself towards a goal and achieving it. I will be thinking about this for a long time.
500hr RYT + Yoga 4 Cancer certifications - I have been in rooms where people are not sure how much time they have. It changes what a yoga practice is “supposed to be and who it’s for”
Myofascial Release for Yoga - Athletic bodies need a different conversation.

Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
The Underground Railroad
Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
