Yoga & Wellness Weekend: A Wheel of Year Yoga Retreat
Join us for a long, restorative weekend designed to help you slow down, breathe deeper, and reconnect with yourself in nature.
We’ll be spending our time at the beautiful River Mountain Retreat Center, where rolling hills, wooded trails, and thoughtfully designed spaces create the perfect environment for rest and renewal. This weekend is an invitation to step away from the noise of everyday life and give your mind and body the care and attention they deserve.
Our days will be gently structured with grounding yoga classes, guided meditation, and mindful nature walks, balanced with plenty of open space to rest and explore at your own pace. You’ll have access to River Mountain’s swim pond, cedar hot soaking tubs, and hammocks tucked throughout the woods - ideal for quiet moments, naps, or simply being present.
Evenings will wind down around the campfire, offering warmth, connection, and space to reflect on the day. This retreat is intentionally unhurried, leaving room for journaling, sketching, reading, or simply doing nothing at all. Bring whatever supports your rest - journals, sketchbooks, favorite books, cozy layers - and allow yourself to fully settle in.
Whether you’re new to retreats or a seasoned yogi, this weekend is designed to meet you exactly where you are, offering a supportive, welcoming space to restore, reset, and return home feeling grounded and refreshed.

About your Host
Trisha Eliason
My name is Trisha Eliason, and I am the owner of Wheel of the Year Yoga. I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and I am a CYT-500. I focus my classes on moving in rhythm with the natural changing of the seasons, each season having its own energy and flow. I truly believe that yoga is for all body types, and all levels of flexibility, and it is my goal to help each of my students build their confidence and listen to their bodies as they follow their yogic path.
As Wheel of the Year Yoga approaches its 3rd anniversary, I felt like this is the perfect time to host our very first retreat, and I hope that you will be a part of that journey!
Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
The Underground Railroad
Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
