Wild-Child Women’s Retreat

Wild-Child Women’s Retreat

Remember those carefree days, filled with joy, laughter, play, imagination, adventure, and exploration, way before you took on the responsibilities of adulthood?

In our youthful innocence, we pretended to be grown-ups, but never did we include the stress from daily expectations. Now, as women, we are out of balance pulled by family and social obligations, work demands, financial responsibilities, and so-on, until we were on the brink of breaking. It can even seep into our closest relationships! Stress has become a never-ending cycle, and before we know it the busy-ness of life leaves us feeling empty and depleted. Over time we lose our wild-child spirit and we no longer remember how to relax and have fun. The good news is…that young girl is still there, just buried under life’s expectations.

This retreat is a weekend to find that spirited girl again and bring her back to life. Imagine a weekend where you could leave your worries behind and give your soul some well-deserved rest. Here you will have the freedom to learn, play, laugh, relax, and explore; inviting this wild-child spirit to reemerge! The Wild-Child retreat offers you the time & space to recharge and refresh your body and your mind giving you space and resources to reconnect and reclaim your spirit.

As a group we will come together with activities and conversation to learn more about who you are and what you want. At the end of the day, we gather to celebrate ourselves at happy hour, then enjoy a healthy, delicious dinner. There will be intentional conversation around the campfire (complete with S’Mores) led by your host, empowerment coach, Judy ViaCava.

JUDY VIACAVA
SOULSHINE EMPOWERMENT COACH

As she was at the finish line of raising her two children to adulthood, Judy’s 17 year marriage was falling apart. The story of who she was, and the dream of the life to come was gone. A year after her separation from her husband, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which ultimately put Judy on the path to
transformation.
Upon her breast cancer diagnosis, Judy realized her true calling: to help other women find their purpose after a major life transition, such as having a chronic illness, retirement, empty-nesting and divorce. To get the proper training and
credentials Judy began training with the Cancer Journey Institute and by the following year received her certification as a Cancer Journey coach. She is currently teaching other people the skills to become a CJI coach.
A healer at heart, as a certified massage therapist, Reiki master, and empowerment coach, Judy has helped hundreds of people on their path to self-discovery, through individual and group coaching, classes, workshops and retreats. Through her own experience, and path toward healing, Judy is passionate about helping others transform into a life filled with peace, passion and purpose.
Some of Judy’s programs use horses to facilitate learning, and is established in Pennsylvania and New Jersey with non-profit equine therapy facilities. Her love of community, volunteerism, and being on the water led her to become a member of The Machestic Dragons, breast cancer survivor dragon boat team,
where she is the vice president of the board of directors.

Wellness with Nature

Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.

Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.

History

Warrior Path

Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.

The Underground Railroad

Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
