Cancellation, Refund & Transfer Policy
Our investment in planning, staffing, and provisioning your River Mountain session cannot be recovered in the event of short-notice cancellations and transfers. Penalties do apply and are described below. By applying for a River Mountain session you are accountable for and subject to the information contained on these pages.
A minimum 25% balance is due at time of sign up. This deposit is completely non-refundable and non-transferrable at time of sign up. The deposit is applied toward the total cost of your session.
If you have not paid in full, the remaining 75% of the outstanding balance will be collected 60 days prior to your River Mountain session. In the event of cancellation for any reason, this is non-refundable. This balance can be applied to a River Mountain session on a different date. We are happy to work with you to find an alternate session.
If you are more than 30 days past due on paying any balance of your session, River Mountain will cancel your enrollment and retain the full deposit.
Session Transfer Policy
At any time, registered guests may transfer from one session to another for no charge.
In order to be fully enrolled, the total cost for the session must be paid in full, and all registration forms and documents must be completed and submitted to River Mountain. All registration materials must be completed and submitted to River Mountain by the session date. If any forms are missing or past due, registration may be rejected and spot will not be reserved. In this event, the total cost of your session will not be refunded.
Any students who decide to leave their session; are required to leave due to an undisclosed pre-existing condition; or are expelled from their session are not eligible for a refund.
Students are expected to attend the entire duration of their scheduled visit. While River Mountain staff will work with students to help them overcome homesickness or whatever other reason they may have for wishing to leave the program early, we cannot make them stay. These students may be released to their parents or guardians if this is the case. However, students who leave early will not be eligible for a refund.
This list is not comprehensive, but sample reasons a child may be expelled from a session include:
- Posing a danger to himself or others
- Bullying, fighting, or other negative behaviors
- Use of drugs or alcohol during their session
- Engaging in sexual activity or sexual harassment
River Mountain does not cancel scheduled session due to weather or other natural occurrences. Bedford County, Pennsylvania experiences a humid continental climate with hot and humid summers and cold winters. Retreat activities will proceed as scheduled in rain, snow, or sun. In extreme situations, River Mountain staff will act in the interest of safety to make decisions regarding scheduled retreat activities. In the event a River Mountain session is cancelled by staff, refunds and/or alternate dates will be made available to all registered participants.
