Sweeter Than Honey Retreat
Come away for a sacred weekend of stillness, connection, and restoration. This retreat is an invitation to slow down, quiet the noise, and draw near to the One who already knows you—and longs to be known by you. Together, we’ll explore what it means to experience true friendship with God—not just as an idea, but as a living, breathing relationship. Through guided teaching, reflections, Scripture, movement, nature, and unhurried space, you’ll have the opportunity to hear His voice more clearly and sense His nearness in a deeply personal way.
Nestled at River Mountain—a peaceful refuge tucked between forest and sky—you’ll also have time to enjoy God’s creation through activities like tubing on the nearby river (weather permitting), planting a tree, soaking in a mountain hot spring tub, dipping in the pond, hiking solo or with a guide, or simply retreating to a hammock hideaway for stillness and prayer. Whether you feel spiritually dry, hungry for more, or simply need space to be refreshed, this weekend is designed to meet you right where you are—with the sweetness of His presence. Come rest, be renewed, and rediscover the joy of walking in friendship with God.
We’ll be staying in two beautifully designed cabins that honor your body’s natural rhythm and support deep rest and restoration. Each cabin features floor-to-ceiling windows, skylights above the top bunks, bedside windows on the bottom bunks, and epic mountain views to help you reconnect with creation—even from your pillow. You'll find cozy indoor sitting areas, two full bathrooms, and thoughtful touches like a coffee pot, mini fridge, microwave, and electric kettle. Outside, enjoy expansive decks, picnic tables, and a wide-open meadow—perfect for casual games, quiet conversation, or simply taking in the stillness. (Top bunks are first come, first serve.
All meals will be provided and crafted with care—delicious farm-to-table offerings that nourish both body and soul. Whether you're gathered around the table or enjoying your meal in solitude, you’ll be invited to slow down, savor, and delight in the goodness of God’s provision.
This retreat is exclusively designed for women seeking to deepen their friendship with God in a supportive, faith-filled environment.

Whether she's teaching yoga, leading a retreat, or sitting with someone in session, her mission is the same: to help others live fully known, fully loved, and fully aligned with the One who calls them friend.

Her sessions will invite practical encounter with God’s presence and create space for lasting transformation. Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
The Underground Railroad
Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
