Embrace Yourself:A Journey of Self-Compassion, Heartfelt Connection, and Inner WisdomThe Time Is Now - JOIN US!
This is your moment to come home to yourself. Through yoga and mindfulness, we’ll guide you in creating space for self-compassion, heartfelt connection, and inner wisdom. Together, let’s embark on this journey of self-discovery and healing—because there is no better time than right now.
Coming Back to Ourselves/Listening to Ourselves
This retreat invites you to come back to your center by deeply listening to yourself. Through a combination of mindfulness and yoga, we will explore how to reconnect with our bodies and hearts, offering ourselves the care and compassion we so often extend to others. This is an opportunity to rediscover who you are and nurture yourself with a loving, open-hearted presence.
Coming Back to the Body
In our yoga practice, we will tune into the language of the body, noticing sensations, movements, and stillness with curiosity and kindness. Mindful movement will help us hear the wisdom of our bodies, offering gentle guidance toward balance and vitality. In each pose, we’ll ask: What do I need in this moment? How can I support and love myself through this practice?
No yoga experience is necessary.
Listening to the Breath
Through mindfulness and yoga, we’ll pay close attention to the breath, allowing it to anchor us in the present. The breath serves as a bridge between the mind and body, helping us soften into each moment. We’ll practice conscious breathing—inhaling to invite calm and exhaling to release tension—as a powerful tool to care for ourselves.
Loving and Caring for Ourselves
This retreat creates space to pause, step out of the constant "going and doing," and ask ourselves: What do I need? When was the last time you gave yourself permission to put yourself first? Through both the stillness of mindfulness and the dynamic flow of yoga, you’ll learn to love and care for yourself in ways that feel authentic and meaningful.
Reconnecting with What Matters Most
By pausing and turning inward, we’ll get back in touch with what is most important. Whether it’s through a mindful meditation or a heart-opening yoga pose, you’ll have the chance to notice and name what is here for you. Sadness, happiness, resistance, love, fear—whatever arises will be met with acceptance and care. There is no right or wrong, only the gentle invitation to allow and embrace.
Being Fully Present
As you settle into each moment—whether through mindful reflection or a grounding yoga sequence—you’ll cultivate a deeper connection to your body, your breath, and your heart. This is your time to feel, to release, and to honor yourself exactly as you are.

MEET YOUR HOSTS

JOSH GANSKY
Josh believes when we take care of ourselves, we have more balance in our lives, and we can be more present for ourselves and the people in our lives. Participants through the practice of Mindfulness will be given time to pause and focus on their own care and well-being, making space for compassion, connection, and understanding.
Over the past 14 years he has been working with adults throughout the Philadelphia area through retreats, classes, workshops, keynotes, and conferences to emphasize the importance of self-care through Mindfulness.
Josh received his Mindfulness training and supervision through Thomas Jefferson University Hospital’s Mindfulness Institute Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine.
He hopes to support you at this retreat and create an opportunity for connection, presence, and open-heartedness.

AMANDA GROEN
After being a dedicated student of yoga for over twenty years, Amanda completed her 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) certification at Jenkintown Hot Yoga in 2018. Later that year, she deepened her practice by studying under Corina Benner, earning two Yin Yoga certifications.
Grateful for her teachers and the wisdom they have shared, Amanda approaches yoga with the belief that it is for everybody—regardless of age, shape, or ability. Her teaching emphasizes care, compassion, and accessibility, creating a welcoming space where students can explore movement, breath, and stillness without judgment.
Amanda’s classes invite students to listen to their bodies, cultivate self-awareness, and honor their unique journeys. Whether through the grounding stillness of Yin or the meditative flow of Vinyasa, she encourages students to embrace yoga as a tool for self-care, resilience, and connection.
She is honored to share this practice and looks forward to guiding students on their retreat experience, offering space to breathe, reflect, and grow.

Wellness with Nature
Resting on 150 acres, River Mountain is bordered by Sweet Root Creek, Warrior Ridge and Tussey Mountain. River Mountain's stunning spaces are designed for reflection, mindfulness, and good vibrations on your self-care journey. Creekside yoga platforms, a restored barn turned wellness space, and the calm of nature make this the ideal destination for peace and wellness.
Located just a few hours from D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, in the mountains of Pennsylvania, River Mountain is remote yet easy to access.
History
Warrior Path
Running parallel to River Mountain's eastern ridge is Warriors Path, the great Iroquois Indian highway from Six Nations country, New York, to the Catawba country in the Carolinas. The historic path along Sweet Root Creek was one of the longest and most heavily traveled land routes in eastern North America, connecting Indigenous peoples over hundreds of miles.
The Underground Railroad
Black Valley was an active route along the Underground Railroad. Local histories principally credit four, free black residents with leading the aid network in this area: Rev. John Fidler, Elias Rouse, Joseph Crawley, and James Graham. Just to the south of the River Mountain property are 13 unmarked graves of enslaved people who died traveling the route to freedom.
