Coronavirus Update

The health and safety of our campers, families, and staff is of the highest priority at River Mountain. During this time of uncertainty, we want to be as communicative as possible as we track the global outbreak of the Coronavirus. We are closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation and will continue to stay informed, proactive, and communicative as we look at our scheduled summer programs.

At this time, River Mountain will continue with all camps as scheduled. Our first camp begins June 21st, so we believe it is too early to make blanket decisions regarding changes. However, we are closely monitoring the outbreak and spread, and will make a safe and reasonable determination when the expected summer conditions are more clear.

Looking to the summer of 2020, ensuring the health and safety of our guests, families, and staff is our top priority. We will be exercising increased caution and taking proactive measures to ensure the health of our guests. We will be training our staff and leaders prior to the start of the summer to reduce risk of illness, based on the protocols recommended by authorities, and will continue to actively update all policies, procedures, and employee training.

In light of this outbreak, we anticipate some families may have questions regarding financial policies. At this time, our policies are unchanged and are available here.

Our team is happy to speak with any family regarding specific concerns related to their child, camp, or our policies and procedures. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions at 615-383-0984.

We thank you for your continued support of River Mountain and our mission. We look forward to an amazing summer and year with all of you. See you soon!

The Benefits of Camp

By Ryan | February 6, 2020

There’s a lot of great research about the benefits of camp experiences for young people. Over the past 12 months, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting several of those researchers, including our own team member Pete Allison from Penn State, and I’m grateful for their work establishing a greater understanding of camps’ impacts on child development.
